Recent Simple Calculations |
|
I recently performed some simple arithmetic calculations concerning my volunteer work. The results very much surprised me. I have been performing volunteer work for 40, 50 or 60 hours a week now for approximately 8 years. During my volunteer activities, I always help other people in many significant ways. My volunteer work consists of rendering legal, business, construction and entertainment activities for a wide variety of individuals who need my assistance.
Even taking a conservative approach and using the 40 hour a week number, the results are as follows: 40 hours a week times 50 weeks equals 2000 hours. 2000 hours times 8 years equal 16,000 hours.
Therefore, simple arithmetic confirms that I have materially helped out others for 16,000 hours of my time over the last eight years. I never charge anything for my volunteer efforts. Moreover, I do not perform my volunteer activities to benefit myself. It is always to benefit others.
To be completely honest though benefiting others makes me feel mentally and emotionally wonderful. My plan is to continue doing so for the remainder of my life on Earth.
Take care.
